At eXtendTech, we recently implemented such a solution for one of our customers. By leveraging our eXtendMobile no-code platform, we’ve created a custom, lightweight customer portal solution that integrates directly with NetSuite and provides their customers with a tailored portal experience.
Solution Overview
While many of our clients leverage our eXtendMobile SuiteApp to tackle specific use-cases in warehouse management, production floor operations, and some light-weight field services tasks, this latest deployment of eXtendMobile as a tailored customer portal is yet another demonstration of the application’s great flexibility.
Key features of the solution deployed included:
User access control: Since eXtendMobile users can be linked to any entity record inside of NetSuite, setting up new customer logins is a breeze.
Viewing open cases: A saved search of the customer’s open cases allows for drill-down capabilities on each case to review the details & status.
Viewing open orders: A saved search of the customer’s open orders allows for drill-down capabilities on each order to review the items ordered & status.
Viewing & paying open invoices: A saved search of the customer’s open invoices allows for drill-down capabilities to review invoice details and even submit payment via the secure payment link surfaced from the underlying NetSuite invoice record.
This is all possible through a series of custom functions that we build within our no-code framework. Each form can be tailored to enhance & streamline the user interface. The best part is that those changes are performed with simple ‘drag & drop’ configurations performed by your NetSuite administrator.
Technical Implementation
Leverages saved searches: NetSuite saved searches provide the foundation for list views and allows for tailoring the specific fields to be displayed as well as the statuses of invoices and orders to be displayed.
Record binding: Each eXtendMobile user login ties directly to the NetSuite customer record for data isolation & security.
The best part? This eXtendMobile SuiteApp can be accessed from a web browser, installed as a native iOS app onto your iPhone or iPad, or installed on your Android device from the Google Play Store. This cross-platform accessibility means your customers can choose to work on their preferred device & platform.
By extending the use of eXtendMobile into a customer portal context, we’ve unlocked a new opportunity for organizations to further their NetSuite investment and provide their customers with quick, easy access to the information they need in a self-serve fashion.
